Patent Program
The Loyola Patent Law Interview Program is a two-day interview program held each year that brings together patent law employers and law students from across the country to interview for summer associate positions and post-graduate employment.
The 2026 Loyola Patent Law Interview Program will be held virtually on Thursday, June 4 & Friday, June 5. Please see the tabs below for information on this year's program.
Each year over 1,000 law students register for the program, submit their application materials, and apply for interviews with the nation-wide employers that interest them. The program is entirely employer selected - which means that participating employers review the materials submitted to them and choose the law students they are interested in interviewing at the program. Roughly half of the students registered for the program are selected for interviews each year.
If your firm is interested in receiving information about the Patent Law Interview Program, please email us at Law-PatentProgram@luc.edu and ask to be added to our mailing list.

Employer Information
Employer Registration
Employer registration is now closed for the 2026 Patent Law Interview Program.
**There will be a single employer registration for the 2026 Patent Law Interview Program. All registered employers will receive their student material packets on Wednesday March 4, and will have until April 29 to make any interview selections, should they choose to, for the LPLIP on June 4 and June 5.
How the Program Works
- Employers register:
Upon completion of payment, your invoice will include your link to Flo Recruit to create your job posting(s). Please note that all drop downs in the payment portal grant employers the same access to Flo Recruit, and the LPLIP. When creating your Flo Recruit Profile, employers will designate which office(s) they are interviewing for, which technical background(s) they are interested in, and their hiring criteria. Firms may also indicate if they plan to conduct interviews prior to the scheduled interview dates. - Students submit their application materials:
Participating law students see firm information beginning on Saturday, January 31, and are allowed to submit materials to up to 60 potential employers. - Employers select students to interview at the program:
On March 4, employers will be able to see the application materials of all students who have applied to them. Our program is an entirely employer selected program – which means that employers choose all of the students they wish to interview based on student materials. After reviewing the materials, employers select 16 students per interview schedule and up to 16 alternates per interview schedule. Alternates are students to be added to the interview schedule in the event of any student cancellations. Employer selections must be submitted in Flo Recruit by 11:59 pm CST on April 29. - Students accept or decline their interviews and alternate list spots:
From May 4 - May 20, students will view their interview and alternate invitations in Flo Recruit. When an interview slot is declined by a student, that slot will be offered to a candidate on the firm's alternate list. - Interview schedules are created:
Based on the students' decisions, interview schedules will be created and will be available on Flo Recruit on May 21. - Employers attend the 2026 Patent Law Program Virtually.
Interviews will take place on Thursday and Friday, June 4-5. Interview schedules run from 9:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m CST. Each interview is 20 minutes long with 5 minute breaks between interviews. There is a lunch break each day from 12:45 – 1:45 p.m. Flo Recruit will host all interviews through the Patent Law Program.
